Designing for Connection: A Family Home That Balances Function, Lifestyle and Light

In the heart of Linden Park, this stunning single-storey home is more than just a beautiful residence – it’s a celebration of family connection, cultural respect, and lifestyle-driven design. Created for Michael and Alina, who relocated from Malaysia with their three children, the home reflects a desire for warmth, openness, and everyday moments of joy.

From the outset Managing Director, William Moukachar, worked closely with the family to reimagine their initial two-storey concept. Opting for a spacious single-storey plan allowed for a better use of the large block, and more room in the budget for high-end finishes and resort-inspired features. The final result is a light-filled, meticulously detailed home that balances glamour with comfort.

A wide, light-filled corridor welcomes guests and offers glimpses into the heart of the home – an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area that flows effortlessly to the landscaped backyard and pool. Skylights and expansive glazing fill the interiors with natural light, while courtyards blur the line between indoor and outdoor living. These design choices, while subtle, significantly enhance the family’s everyday life.

Alina’s dream kitchen is a standout – featuring custom shaker cabinetry, brushed brass-framed reeded glass, and a dual cooktop setup tailored to the couple’s cooking styles. Meanwhile, the luxurious master suite, complete with walk-in robe, ensuite, and private courtyard access, offers a tranquil retreat with views across the pool.

Thoughtful spatial planning ensures every family member feels both connected and independent. The teenage wing, set at the rear, includes a second living area and a bedroom with its own ensuite, walk-in robe, and even a gaming station. An office nook tucked near the kitchen subtly encourages shared moments between study and relaxation.
